Halesworth is a friendly and gentle market town, the centre is only a ten minute walk from Folly View, the town has some interesting old buildings dating from the 16th century, quiet on Sundays but busy the rest of the week with a small market on Wednesdays.

Southwold is about 8 miles drive from Folly View a unique and pretty seaside town the with a lighthouse, shops and art galleries and the home of Adnams brewery. While there, you could walk along the pier see the quirky hand made amusements and the water clock. To the south where the river Blyth meets the sea you can find the harbor, there is a hand rowed ferry to Walberswick or walk via foot bridge.

Bird watchers could be lucky and see a good range of finches, tits and the odd woodpecker or two.
